John Brown, a versatile artist hailing from Fayetteville, North Carolina, is renowned as a bassist, composer, educator, and actor. Currently residing in Durham, NC, Brown is a distinguished graduate of the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the School of Law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His remarkable journey includes serving as Vice Provost for the Arts, Director of the Jazz Program, and Professor of the Practice of Music at Duke University. With a rich background in classical and jazz, Browns musical odyssey began at the age of 9 under the tutelage of the late Susan Ellington, and he has since left an indelible mark on the music scene.
