This is an Authentic Ruby/Sapphire Mine that has been operating since the 1950’s. Tiffany’s was the first to mine this location. Luckily one of the few original mines still in operation. Rockhounds love it here as we offer true Native dirt/rubies that are unsalted (nothing added). Buckets are already dug onsite filled for you. Select your own LUCKY buckets – you might just find what we call HONKERS (rubies over 30 carats) or get REAL LUCKY and find the next SUPER HONKER (rubies over 100 carats!!!) We also offer “SALTED” buckets for all ages, so that everyone is sure to have a FUN TIME with treasures to bring home. Truly a fun and memorable family and friends activity for all ages.
We are about 16 minutes drive from downtown Franklin, in the beautiful and scenic Cowee Valley, which is original Native American Land. You’ll feel the peacefulness as you drive in and enjoy a zen like experience as you listen to the water trickling down the flume, the laughter and chatter of children and adults and the sounds of nature with a gorgeous lily pad pond right before you.
