Live Adoptions & Donations for PAWS Animal Shelter
Need a furry date? Come support PAWS Animal Shelter and meet adorable adoptable pets—your next best friend might be waiting. Donations of dog and cat food, beds, and supplies are welcome, and every contribution helps PAWS care for animals in need, find them loving homes, and promote responsible pet care throughout Swain County.
Pet Friendly Group Hike
Spend a delightful afternoon in the gorge with your canine companion! Begin at the Outfitter’s Store by registering for the dog-friendly group outing, guided by NOC’s own Appalachian Trail thru-hiker, Betsy Bevis. Bring your leashed, well-behaved pups and discover the scenic riverside trail together. Waivers are required. The hike begins at 1pm and covers 3 miles of flat, paved path along the river.

Pet Valentine Exchange
Choose from pre-made Valentine cards and fill one out for your pet or best friend. Attach it to a treat or toy purchased in-store for a thoughtful (and adorable) Valentine’s surprise.
“Why I Love You” Station
Write a note sharing why you love your pet or best friend and add it to our display wall or window. These messages will remain up for the week, turning our space into a heartfelt community love board.
