Foxfire Heritage Days 2026

One Time Event
06/05/2026 - 06/06/2026
Foxfire Museum Mountain City GA 30562

Foxfire Heritage Days is back June 5 and 6 for its 18th year!

For two days, Foxfire’s historic village fills with the sound of hammers at the forge, pottery on the wheel, butter in the churn, music on the grounds, food on site, and families moving through the cabins, porches, and trails.

This year’s demonstrations include blacksmithing, black powder rifle history, pottery, butter making, basketmaking, weaving, spinning and felting, flintknapping, woodcarving, chair caning, walking sticks, soap making, poplar basket folding, woodstove cooking, open cooking, canning and jellies, small engines, instruments, moonshine history, children’s activities, and more.

What makes Heritage Days special is where it happens. These skills are not lined up in booths. They are shared throughout Foxfire’s historic village, inside and around the cabins, with demonstrators who know the work and are glad to talk while they do it.

Families can wander the heritage trail, visit more than 20 historic buildings, spend time in the Children’s Village, watch things being made by hand, ask questions, and experience the old ways in a place built to preserve them.

Black powder rifle demonstrations will take place both days at 11am and 3pm.

Blue Hound Barbecue will be on site, and Jake McCrackin will play live music both days from 11am to 1pm.
