The Hambidge Center

105 Hambidge,
Rabun Gap, GA 30568

About

Established in 1934, the Hambidge Center nurtures creativity through innovative workshops, community programs, and a multidisciplinary residency program on its pristine wooded 600-acre creative sanctuary in the North Georgia Mountains.

Three- and five-day workshops are offered in a wide range of topics, from visual arts, crafts, and writing, to music, movement, and the culinary arts. No matter which topic you choose, you can look forward to an inspiring and restorative experience! Workshop leaders are accomplished artists who offer in-depth lessons as well as thoughtful insights about their craft and practice. Workshops are kept small in order to give you more time with your instructor, and also to encourage the creation of community through shared learning and conversations around the dinner table. Accommodations are luxurious and restful.

Public events at Hambidge are offered monthly, and most are free to attend. They include Gristmill Visits for demonstrations of old-fashioned grain milling at the historic Barker’s Creek Mill; inspiring Artist Talks about the creative process from the current residents; Hambidge Rambles – nature walks, creative talks, and vice versa. Dates and times can be found in the Event section of the website.
