History: Mary Hambidge built the current mill in 1944, continuing a legacy that dates back to the late 1820s when the first white settlers arrived. The mill has undergone renovations over the years, maintaining its charm and authenticity.

Mechanics: The mill features a 12-foot overshot wheel set on babbet bearings. Originally wooden-spoked, it was later upgraded to metal spokes in the 1960s. Inside, two 16″ flint/granite stones grind the grains.

Operating Hours: Visitors can explore Barkers Creek Mill on the First Saturday of each month from 1-4 p.m., or by appointment. The mill provides milling services for area farmers.
