Fireworks and Fun In the Smokies

Fontana Village Resort. Fontana Dam, NC- The barbeque pit is ready, the music line up is hot and the fireworks are aimed towards the sky for this year’s annual July 4th Celebration at Fontana Village Resort. This year’s celebration includes a full slate of activities and entertainment for the entire family. The holiday activities schedule runs from Wednesday, July 3rd, through Saturday, July 6th.

The Stecoah Valley Center will be open daily 10-5pm, closed during the holidays 12/22/12 through 1/1/13.

The After school and Jam programs will be open daily 3-6pm and will follow the Graham County School schedule.

Stecoah Valley Center Gallery will be open Monday - Friday, 11-4pm through December 21 and will be closed December 22,2012 through February 28,2013 and reopen March 1, 2013.

Nantahala River Lodge Invites You to Experience the Magic of Winter

We love the four unique seasons the area offers. We really enjoy being in the mountains in winter. We chose a location and designed our Nantahala River Lodge to provide easy access and comfort during winter weather. We get out and explore the area during the winter months and our hope is that everyone will have the opportunity to experience the magic of winter. It is fun to be the first to leave tracks in the snow.

Mickey's grandparents came to Nantahala for their honeymoon in 1921. Since then it has been a long standing tradition for our family to enjoy and care for this area. We've been making memories and friends here for three generations and truly enjoy helping our guests make the most of their mountain vacation during every season.

Holiday Cookie Exchange – Mon. Dec. 3 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Tuition: $45. Instructor: Kim Hendrickson. We will make eight different cookies for you to take home.

Filled and Molded Chocolates – Tues. Dec. 4
9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Tuition: $60. Instructor: Kim Hendrickson.
Learn the basics of tempering chocolate and prepare a variety of fillings in the morning then create and fill a variety of molded shapes in the afternoon.

Christmas Victorian Tea – Wed. Dec.5 1:00 - 3:30 pm. Tuition: $45. Instructor: Kim Hendrickson. Take a break from holiday stress to enjoy Afternoon Tea with three different finger sandwiches, two different scones, and three different desserts. Two different teas are served without limit.

Underground Railroad Messenger Doll - Saturday, December 8 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Tuition: $20 (includes materials). Instructor: Kym Miller Reinhardt.
Learn to make a soft sculpture doll using a technique of wrapping scraps of material and leave with a "baby" that has a tag intertwined on which you can sign your name.

Corn Shuck Angel or Doll – Thurs. Dec. 13 1:00-4:00 pm. Tuition: $25 (includes materials). Instructor: Lori Anderson
