General Description: The Bascom is a visual art center offering rotating exhibitions, classes, a gallery shop, a pet-friendly nature trail, more. Exhibition admission is free. Situated on a six-acre, "green," architect-designed pastoral campus in the mountain resort community of Highlands, NC, The Bascom serves people through high-quality educational programs and exhibitions. The campus features historic buildings, a covered bridge entrance, a nature trail, a 27,500 square foot main building for two-dimensional adult and childrenâs art, a separate reconstructed Studio Barn for three-dimensional art, a terrace for venue rentals, and much more.
