   Great Smoky Mountains Railroad

All Aboard For a Historic & Scenic Journey! That's an invitation to a delightful journey through the majestic mountains and colorful countryside of Western North Carolina, over a sprawling lake, past rushing rivers, through a deep mountain gorge and into dark mountain tunnels.

Gourmet Dinner Train

Experience railroading as it used to be aboard the nostalgic Gourmet Dinner Train, with white linen tablecloths and old-fashioned attentive service.

The Gourmet Dinner Train departs from Dillsboro every Saturday and select Friday evenings year-round.

Full Steam Ahead

Today's passengers see the Great Smokies as travelers did over a century ago, riding in comfortable coaches, club cars, dining cars or open cars that are perfect for taking photos or just taking in the view.

The Railroad operates year-round, with schedules varying seasonally.

The special excursions, such as the train & raft combination trips, are a great value.

Scheduling

Choose from morning or afternoon round-trip excursions (lasting 3 1/2 to 7 hours) and dozens of special excursions like "Mystery Theatre Dinner Train," "Santa Express," "Day Out With Thomas™," and train and rafting combination trips.

To ensure seating preference, order tickets in advance with a credit card. Ask about upgrading tickets to Crown Coach or Club Car.
